A DVD of this action packed DVD will be made available soon, where you can relive the night!
Below is a classified list of all the results, and match winners from the show.
Pride Heavyweight Championship Match
We opened the night with Pride Champion Danny Walsh, clad in Royal Robes and Crown taking on 'Wrestling's first avenger' Darren Saviour. Darren went through an Eight-man tournament in Saltash to become Prizefighters Champion and also Dan Maloney in Exmouth to receive this title match, so the Pressure was on the showman to take the belt away from 'The man who brings sexy back'.
Saviour would kick out, and mount a comeback, hitting Dropkicks, clotheslines and finally a death valley driver that has won Saviour many matches, which Danny would kick out at two! The title clearly meant a lot to both men, as Darren climbed to the top rope, Danny would shake the ropes and drop the Challenger onto the floor.
Danny Walsh Wins and retains the heavyweight championship
After the bell, the champion was not done, laying in shot after shot on the defeated Saviour. Then, an unlikely save. Straight off his 2-year stint with the WWE, Joel Redman makes his return to the UK, and Pride! He chased out the champion, and challenged him to a match for the title. He would first, however have to get through Danny's partner in crime, Dan Maloney
Danny would be a decisive factor in the match early on, as he was able to distract the 'Physical Specimen' and allow Dan to get the upper hand. Despite the beating, Joel would bring out huge clotheslines and a big back body drop to regain control of the match. A chasing contest ensued with Joel chasing both Dan's around ringside.
Danny was starting to get restless, and started firing shots and a 2-on-1 ensued, wearing down Redman. This lead to Danny being sent to the back, but the damage was done, and Joel was hurting. Maloney's offense was strong with strong kicks, knee lifts and finally a huge German Suplex which looked to have injured Redman.
Big moves almost won the match for Maloney, including a brutal looking neckbreaker to the knee. However, Joel would kick out, and counter Maloney's attempt to hit another neckbreaker with a twisting brainbuster for the win, setting up Danny Walsh vs Joel Redman on 2nd August.
Joel Redman Wins
Pride Tag TEam Medallions match
The up-and coming Champions Josh Knott and Rob Britannia would face another stiff opponent. After failing to win the tag team medals with Groza Alexander in Exmouth, Calum Cain came to Torquay with a new partner looking to take the gold from the youngsters.
The Champions would come out to a live rendition of their theme song by the band Six Claw Paw, clearly psyching up Retro Revival for the match. The champions got the early lead working over the Irishman. They held the match in control for quite some time before Dumphries countered into a big boot, missile dropkick to the knee combo.
Rob, the fresh man would clean house, throwing Cain around by his ankles and hitting a Samoan Drop for 2. With Dumpries and Britannia clearing the ring, Knott would miss a splash allowing Cain chance to take control. Britannia was back, cleared both challengers before hitting an incredible powerbomb on Cain the big man. Helping Josh Knott onto the top rope on one leg for a Splash on Cain for the win.
Retro Revival wins and retains the tag medallions.
Fatal 4-Way Match
This match has an unexpected quality to it, as all four men have completely different wrestling styles. With Mark's array of kicks, Dominator's Rule-breaking mentality and strong strikes, Harding's incredible resiliency and old school style of offence and Ryan's high-flying and speedy attacks.
With this match set to one fall, whoever would get the first pin would be victorious. The match started with every man trying to take control, with every man throwing clotheslines until John and Ryan were left in the ring. A suicide dive by Harding on both men left the three grounded, and was followed up by a superb spinning senton over the top rope by Smile onto all three men.
Things started to get serious, as with everyone down in the ring, Smile close this time to unleash a 450 onto Harding, only for Dominator to rush in and break up the count at 2. Dominator would then hit the D2 to Smile but was broken up by Walsh. Mark took Dominator out of the ring, and turned his attention to the fallen Harding.
Setting Harding up on the top rope, Mark would attempt a Cutter from the top, but John somehow counted the move, sending Walsh flying into the ring, and in the range of Dominators signature springboard legdrop. When pinning Walsh, Harding came down hard on Dominator with an elbow, before turning him over and pinning Walsh for his first ever win in Pro Wrestling Pride.
John Harding Wins
Catch Division Championship 'I Quit' Match
The main event of the night, was the 3rd meeting between Ultimo Tiger and Tyler Hawke over Hawke's Catch Division Championship. This would be the final match, as no matter the result, whoever lost would not get a(nother) shot at the gold. Tyler would come to the ring in a black fur coat, with manager Calum Cain, as well as the Voodoo Dollz dance group dropping rose petals at his feet. After his last two championship wins over the masked man, he was bound to be confident of the win that night.
Before the match, Cain made sure to not take any chances. He taped up the mouth of his Protégée, so that he would have no way of quitting in this match!
It showed that both men hated each other, as they instantly tried to get hold of the other one. When they did, they repeatedly threw chop after chop to the other. After Hawke exited the ring, Tiger would go to splash on him and Cain, but would land on his feet after both men moved. Cain would hold Tiger, to allow Hawke to palancha onto him, but this time Tiger moved, before hitting a cannonball over the top rope onto both men.
The numbers game soon caught up to Tiger as he ran off the ropes for his signature enziguri, he was clocked by a kendo stick shot to the back of the head by Cain. Hawke now had the stick, and threw one into the challengers midriff for good measure.
Sensing that this might be his chance, Tiger set Hawke back up on the chairs, but Hawke was too quick, hitting an Enziguri, and then a superplex through the chairs. Clearly in pain, Tiger did not quit. The two men would battle to the stage, where Tiger would once again get the upper hand, throwing Tyler off the stage next to where the band Six Claw Paw had been performing earlier that night.
He then mounted Hawke, thowing fist after fist on the champion! With no way of defending himself, Tyler announced to the world that '(He) Quit'. Ultimo Tiger was the new catch Division Champion, and would keep his mask. However, both men were likely never to be the same again after this incredible match.
Ultimo Tiger wins the Catch Division Championship and retains his mask
